I hope everyone is well
It’s felt good to have a break, but I felt that in that time I’ve wanted to change my approach to how I have been watching films.
Throughout lockdown I had the time to be more engrossed in films, I felt that in that time it helped me as I had nothing more to do than watch, write and explore new cinematic cultures. However that is no longer the case.
Thankfully the world has seemed to come back to normality, well at least some I guess, but it’s become a lot harder to watch the same volume of films that I was in 2021 without taking too much time out of my other creative endeavours.
I’ve also felt that I have had to force myself to watch films and not appreciate them in the same way, which has led me to feel a little tired of of watching films in this way, which I feel is normal after watching over 150 films in the space of 18 months.
I’m still going to watch films, but instead I will highlight one film a month and write more extensively about that film, it could be a film I haven’t watched or a film that I have, but what you’ll find is that the blog posts will be the same length except I’ll be diving in more depth about what I admire about the film or its cultural impact.
I know it’s been a while, but I have noticed that people have still been reading, which has been really nice to see. I don’t want to compromise on the quality of my posts, but I want to change the blog so that I can keep your interest.
Thanks for sticking with me,
